Oompa-Loompa-Doop-A-De-Do

This could be the fate that awaits me:

Not because I crossed paths with some bad gum, but due to the astonishing quantity of fruit I've been eating lately. One of my favorite things about summer is the affordability and variety of fresh fruits at the grocery store, so I load up my cart every week. I was cleaning and cutting up this week's fruit haul yesterday afternoon, when I noted the following tally:
  • 2 pounds of strawberries
  • 1 pound of cherries
  • 1 pound of grapes
  • 2 pints of blueberries
  • 8 bananas
  • 1 cantaloupe
  • 2 large deli-cut bowls of watermelon and fresh pinapple
Since I've been eating this much fruit every week for the past month, I fully expect to blow up like Violet Beauregarde any day now. I can only hope that the Oompa-Loompas roll me past that chocolate river on the way to be squoze.

Coming this week: I question the ever-increasing number of "digestive health" products on the market, and the follow-up to my fascinating product review!

Your list of things you stock up on and my list of things I stock up on are markedly different. I'll just leave it at that.

Good luck, Violet!

Kathy: It's not that I don't want to buy the good (fattening, yummy) stuff...ut, if I don't have it in the house, I can't eat it.

I'll be sure to have the husband take photos if and when I blow up!

Thanks for buying (and actually eating!) fruit so I don't have to. I really do not care for fruit, tho I have to say, I had some really good strawberries over the weekend. Of course, they were covered with flakes of chocolate.

See, if I buy that much fruit (as much as I like it), chances are good that it would end up as some vague-ish black colored mush in a bag.

Oreos have a much better shelf life.

JD: No problem...I will gladly eat fruit for you. And everyone else I know, apparently. Oddly enough, I don't like strawberries if they're chocolate-covered.

Chris: Mmm...Oreos. I love them WAY too much to keep them in the house. Especially the Double Stuf ones.

I don't think Violet is a possibility, but with all that fruit I imagine you spend a good amount of time..er ahem...using the facilities.

Lola: You inadvertently brought up the subject of my next post! I'm going to address all those "digestive health" products I keep hearing about.
